The Johnson County Humane Society, Inc. Pet Adoption Center, located in Butler, TN is pleased to remind folks of its Cats For Seniors Program. This special program is designed for people ages 55 and older to adopt a cat free of charge from the Pet Adoption Center (PAC). The standard adoption fee is fifty dollars. The adoption fee is entirely paid for by donations dedicated for this purpose.
All of the cats and dogs at the PAC who need loving homes have been spayed or neutered, have had all necessary shots and vaccinations, and are ready to go home with the right person!
It has been medically documented that having a pet helps lower blood pressure and stress, and provides much needed company for people who experience isolation or depression. In addition, the loving bond between pets and their owners provides warmth and comfort for both.
The Johnson County Humane Society, Inc. (JCHSI) is a not for profit organization that is staffed entirely by volunteers. No public funds are received by the organization. The animals are cared for by volunteers seven days a week. Volunteers go to the PAC in the morning to clean the dog kennels and catteries, provide food, water, and treats, and spend time socializing with each animal.
The PAC is located at 919 Pine Orchard Road in Butler and is open to the public from 10 am until 2 pm on Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. Please stop by for a visit and get to know us! If no one is there to take your call, please leave a message (including your telephone number) and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Volunteers are always needed and welcome. There are many different volunteer opportunities in addition to directly caring for the animals. For more information about volunteering at the PAC please call Pam at (423) 727-8591.
Don’t forget the Humane Society Rummage Sale will take place at the Armory in Mountain City on April 18!
